 Messaging
You can use the Explicit Message function of CompoNet to control and monitor your inverter. It sup-
ports messages that conform to the AC/DC drive object defined in the CompoNet specifications.
In addition, you can use the Parameter Read/Write message object (Class 64), a unique enhance-
ment by OMRON, to read/write the parameter settings and monitor values stored in the inverter.
Using the Explicit Message function in conjunction with Remote I/O enables the use of data not allo-
cated to Remote I/O because these function can be used independent of each other.
Support for a Wide Range of System Configurations
The CompoNet Communications Unit provides two communications functions, Remote I/O and Mes-
saging. You can use the Remote I/O function for control inputs normally and the Messaging function as
required to monitor each inverter. These communications functions also allow you to control whether to
enable the control inputs from the communications line or the local control inputs.
Automatic Baud Rate Recognition
The CompoNet Communications Unit automatically detects the Master Unit's communication baud
rate, so no user configuration is required.
Precautions for Correct Use
Precautions for Correct Use
To change the CompoNet Master Unit's baud rate, be sure to reset the Master Unit first. Then,
turn power supply OFF and ON the inverter (CompoNet Communications Unit) to have the
new bard rate detected.
Parameter Edit Using CX-Drive via CompoNet
Connecting the Inverter/Servo parameter support tool CX-Drive via CompoNet communications
enables editing of inverter parameters. You can change parameters for all Slaves without switching the
software connection.
