Permanent A 32NB, 40NB or 50NB galvanised or stainless-steel post can be
locally sourced and directly concreted into the ground.
A kit is available that includes a special joint for 32NB or 40NB
poles, that allows lowering of the pole to access the Ai1 and top
mounted sensors down to ground level. The joint can be locked to
prevent unauthorized lowering. The kit includes a pre-drilled
endcap with screw for mounting bird spikes. The advantage of the
kit is that it is easily shipped and fitted to new or existing poles,
suitable for instrument elevations up to 4m in height. Fittings are
available to clamp pole to existing guardrails and stanchions.
Permanent The recommended solution that provides the most features. The
1.3m stainless steel post with base plate includes a prefabricated
rag bolt set, a cover plate to fit around the post base and cover the
heads of the rag bolt set, and a pre-drilled endcap with screw for
mounting bird spikes.
An optional add-on is the electrical kit which includes conduit for
installing the cables through the bottom of the pipe, with a ground
installed pit system for running cables into the post.
Permanent A taller post ideally suited to all-in-one weather stations. The 1.8m
post elevates weather sensors to 2.0m, a widely accepted
exposure standard (such as the American Association of State
Climatologists, AASC). For details of various exposure standards,

1.8m post still allows access to the sensors for levelling,
maintenance and cleaning from a small stool.
Permanent The tallest post option available, the SSPOST3 elevates weather
sensors to 3.0m which may be preferred for sites with public
access. Most people have a standing reach to 2.5m. With the
2.8m mast, the Ai1 is mounted at 2.5m and above.
Permanent / All the required materials to pre-cast a mast foundation, or pour
Temporary on site. The kit includes rag-bolt set for levelling of the mast, a
conduit assembly for routing cables from the side of the
foundation inside the mast, and the mixing tools for measuring,
hand mixing, and pouring, including Personal Protective Equipment
(PPE). Just add concrete and water...
A complete kit of materials is available to provide earthing for
lightning protection. The kit includes a lockable earth pit, conduit
assembly (to bring cables from the pole into the pit), earth cables,
bulkhead surge arrestor, enclosure earth lug, 1.2m earth spike and
