7.3 YSI EXO Sonde

When using an EXO sonde in SDI12 mode, it must be deployed first. Video instructions on deploying the sonde are
available: www.youtube.com/watch?v=CLyl3OV1_Mw. Using RS485 with the Sonde, deployment is not required but
still advised. In both situations it is recommended to configure the sonde
for "Sample & Hold" measurements with a interval to match the
measurement interval of the Ai1. It is also recommended to install
batteries in the sonde. Check the Live Data tab for Battery Voltage and
confirm the reading is 3.1V or higher (for EXO3) or 6.1V or higher (for
EXO2). With "Sample & Hold" and batteries, the sonde will record data in
its memory while also sending data to the Ai1. If the Ai1 fails for any
reason, the sonde will continue operation with the data available for
manual download.
When using an EXO sonde with the RS485 interface, only one parameter of each type is available to download. If
multiple sensors of the same type are required, the EXO must be used with a YSI SOA (Signal Output Adapter), which
is available as an option.
The recommended KOR setup is as shown below. Click Create Template and configure Logging Interval Time under
Basic Deployment Settings. Set the logging interval to match the measurement frequency of the Ai1
Setup logging interval here
The DCP Adapter Output section is only required if using the SDI12 output of the sonde. The most common
configuration with an Ai1 does not require this section, as they use RS485 communications to talk to the sonde
