Overview of the emergency call systems available in the vehicle
Mercedes-Benz emergency call system
Both emergency call systems are included as standard equipment in your vehicle and are activated at the factory.

The use of both emergency call systems is exempt from charges.

The Mercedes-Benz emergency call system is permanently logged in to

the mobile phone network.
Automatic and manual Mercedes-Benz emergency calls are transmit‐

ted to a Mercedes-Benz emergency call centre.
In the event that the emergency call centre of the Mercedes-Benz
emergency call system cannot be reached (e.g. due to a lack of net‐
work coverage), the 112 emergency call is carried out automatically.
Both emergency call systems only function in areas in which the wireless service providers offer mobile phone coverage.

For both systems, insufficient network coverage from the wireless service providers can result in an emergency call not being transmitted.
