Cup holders

Using the cup holder
& WARNING ‑ Risk of accident or injury
when using the cup holder while the
vehicle is in motion
The cup holder cannot hold a container
secure while the vehicle is in motion.
If you use a cup holder while the vehicle is in
motion, the container may be flung around
and liquids could be spilled. The vehicle
occupants may come into contact with the
liquid and if it is hot, they could be scalded.
You could be distracted from traffic condi‐
tions and you may lose control of the vehicle.
Only use the cup holder when the vehi‐
#
cle is stationary.
Only use the cup holder for containers
#
of the right size.
Always close the container, particularly
#
if the liquid is hot.
Depending on the vehicle's equipment, the fol‐
lowing cupholders are available:
in the front stowage compartment of the
R
centre console
in the rear passenger compartment centre
R
console
in the armrests of the rear seats
R
between the seats in the third row of seats
R

Vehicles without a temperature-controlled
cupholder: the bracket arms of front cup holder
can be retracted or extended.
To retract the bracket arm: push the
#
bracket arm

outwards to the side until it
engages.
When the bracket arm is retracted, the cup
holder cannot fulfil its bracket function.
To extend the bracket arm: press button
#

Switching the cooling or heating function for
the temperature-controlled cup holder on or
off
& WARNING Risk of injury by touching the
heating elements
The cup holder's heating elements may be
very hot.
You can burn yourself on them.
Do not touch the cup holder's hot heat‐
#
ing elements.
