• Continuity should exist.
• Check harness for a short to ground and short to power.
Is the check result normal?
Yes >>
Go to step 5.
No >>
Repair or replace the circuit for an open or short in harness or connectors.

CHECK KNOCK SENSOR SIGNAL
• Check knock sensor output signal in connector (1).
• Set digital multimeter on voltage range.
• Using the test methods below, test the knock sensor circuit as follows:
KNOCK SENSOR
TERMINAL NO.
• Method 1: Knock
at cylinder with
rubber hammer
1 - 2
• Method 2: Knock
at sensor slightly
• Output signal voltage should exist.
Is the check result normal?
Yes >>
Go to the next step.
No >>
Replace the knock sensor.
