Introduction
HBM's WA displacement transducers are particularly well suited for use with all
applications requiring a high degree of durability and precision, such as
research, development and industry.
To provide documentary evidence of quality, a separate test report containing
the test data is included in the list of components supplied with the product.
All versions
Accuracy class options 0.2 or 0.1 are available for the transducers. An indi
vidual transducer characteristic is also supplied for both these accuracy
classes, as a test report. This documents the linearity error (including hyster
esis).
Probe version
Their external structure allows the displacement probes to be used like com
parators. They are distinguished by excellent resolution and accurate reprodu
cibility. The measuring element with the probe tip that is screwed into the probe
pin can be replaced with other measuring elements conforming to DIN 878
when required.
Displacement transducers can detect the displacement of measurement
objects occurring in the transducer axis direction. It is permissible to have
motion components perpendicular to the axis, if they do not exert any notice
able lateral force on the probe tip. This means that it is also possible to mea
sure irregularities, differences in thickness or ovalities on rolling or rotating
objects. It is also an advantage to use the transducers for high-precision mea
surements of the lengths and thickness differences of series of measurement
objects.
