2. Remove the pulley halves with the spacer shims
from the adapter, and take the fan belt off the
upper pulley/fan assembly. Note the number of
shims between pulley halves, and on the front
side of pulley, especially if the same belt will be
reinstalled. See Figure 9-32.

Remove Fan Assembly, Mounting Bracket,
and Fan Shaft
1. Remove the front hex flange nut and washer
securing the fan assembly to the fan shaft.
Remove the fan and pulley assembly from the
upper mounting bracket. See Figure 9-33.

NOTE: Further disassembly of the fan/hub and
pulley assembly is not necessary unless
a problem exists; see "Inspection -
Cooling Fan Assembly, Belt, and Drive
Pulleys" (Section 7). If disassembly is
performed, note the assembly order and
position of parts. See Figure 9-34.

2. Remove the two hex flange screws and take off
the mounting bracket, with the fan shaft
attached. See Figure 9-35.

3. The fan shaft may be removed from the
mounting bracket, by removing the rear hex
flange nut, if individual servicing of either part is
required.
