Operation

WARNING
Use the medical device only within the specified
pressure range and environmental conditions.
Observe section "Technical Data". Otherwise,
the correct functioning of the medical device
may be compromised.
After the device has been prepared as described in
section "Preparation", page 21, the display shows
the following information:
The thumb wheel (B) closed completely.
The current measured value is shown in L/min*. The
required flow can be set.
l/min
The rotating flow indicator (G) means that a gas flow
is measured.
*
Standard liters per minute at 20 °C and 1013 hPa
The bar display (H) shows the measured value in
relation to the measurement range of the device.
See "Technical data", page 28.
The numerical value (F) shows the flow in L/min.
NOTE
If "overflow" is shown on the display, the measure-
ment range was exceeded.
Turn thumb wheel clockwise until "overflow" disap-
pears.
When the measurement range is exceeded, the
displayed flow does not correspond to the actual
flow.

Measured value

The numerical value (F) is displayed in L/min
(20 °C/1013 hPa), i.e., the numerical value refers to
an ambient temperature of 20 °C and an ambient
pressure of 1013 hPa.
To convert this value to the flow at ambient
conditions 2
proceed as follows (gas equation):
,
1 x T2 x p1
2 =
p2 x T1
1 = Flow displayed in L/min (20 °C/1013 hPa)
2 = Flow rate at
p2 = Ambient air pressure (hPa)
