Tyre Pressure Monitoring System

The tyre pressure monitoring system
constantly monitors the tyre pressure
in each wheel. If selected as a menu
option, current pressure information
N
can be shown in the instrument panel,
see page 81.
NOTE: The tyre pressure monitor-
ing system is not a substitute for
proper tyre maintenance and it is
the driver's responsibility to main-
tain correct tyre pressures, even
if under-inflation has not reached
the level to trigger illumination of
the low tyre warning symbol.
The
tyre pressure monitoring
warning symbol will illuminate to warn
if one or more of the tyres become
significantly under-inflated and a
warning message is also shown in the
driver's display screen, see page 81 for
further information.
When the
warning symbol
illuminates, you should stop and check
your tyres as soon as possible and
inflate them to the correct pressures,
see page 200.
WARNING: Driving with under-in-
flated tyres could cause the tyres
to overheat and can lead to tyre
failure and may affect the vehicle's
handling and stopping ability.
WARNING: Under-inflation also
reduces tyre tread life and may
affect the vehicle's handling and
stopping ability.
VEHICLE CARE
WARNING: Damage to a tyre will
not be registered by the tyre
pressure monitoring system.
Regularly check the tyre condition
and pressures, especially when
driven on a track. Failure to do so
may lead to serious injury or
death.
