Tyre Replacement

When replacing tyres, always use the
size and type of tyres recommended
in the 'Technical Data' section of
this handbook, (see page 239 ), or
consult your Lotus Retailer to check
the current Lotus specification and
recommendations.
WARNING: Using the incorrect
N
tyres can affect the vehicle's
handling and stability.
NOTE: Some tread patterns are
asymmetric, such that the tyres
must be fitted to the wheels the
correct way round. Refer to the
'side facing inwards' or 'side facing
outwards' marking on the tyre
sidewall. In addition, some tread
patterns are directional, in which
case a direction of normal rotation
arrow will be included in the tyre
sidewall markings.

Winter Tyres

If the car is to be used in winter or in
cold conditions, or driven on snow
covered roads, it is recommended to
fit a car set of winter tyres developed
specifically for such conditions. Lotus
approves the use of winter tyres in
sizes as specified in the 'Technical
Data' section, (see page 239). The
specific tyres recommended are
available to order from your Lotus
Retailer.

Snow Chains

Snow chains should only be fitted
on the rear wheels in conjunction
with winter tyres. Follow the fitting
and tensioning instructions supplied
with the chains. The chains should be
N
removed as soon as road conditions
allow. See page 239.
NOTE: Vehicle handling can be ad-
versely affected when driving with
N
snow chains.
NOTE: Using snow chains may
be prohibited in certain markets.
Always check local regulations/
laws before fitting snow chains.
VEHICLE CARE

Tyre Inflator Kit

The kit contains an electrical pump and
tyre sealant bottle which is secured
with straps to the right-hand side of
the rear luggage compartment. Minor
N
damage to the tread of the tyre can be
repaired using the tyre repair kit.
N
NOTE: Do not remove foreign
bodies from the tyre.
NOTE: Extensive damage to
the tread or any damage to the
tyre sidewall or wheel cannot be
repaired using the repair kit.
CAUTION: If possible, avoid
driving on a deflated tyre to avoid
irreparable damage to the tyre.
