Crash Event Data
Your vehicle is equipped with an event
data recorder. The main purpose is to
record information related to vehicle
crashes or accidents. The data
recorded may provide a better
understanding of the circumstances in
which crashes and injuries occur.

Some of the information recorded is
required to diagnose and rectify vehi-
cle faults during servicing and main-
tenance so that Lotus can satisfy legal
requirements and other regulations.
The information is also used for re-
search reasons by Lotus to continuous-
ly develop quality and safety.
The event data recorder cannot
identify who is driving the vehicle or
the location of any incidents. Because
of legislation and regulations, Lotus
may be required to disclose other types
of recorded data to certain government
agencies who may assert a legal right
to have access to it, such as, but not
limited to police authorities etc.
HANDBOOK INFORMATION
Engine Data Recording
Various operating parameters are
continuously monitored and recorded
by certain electronic control modules.
This data may be downloaded by Lotus
Retailers on demand in order to assist
with fault diagnosis and identify any
vehicle misuse.
Software Updates
As a process of continuous improve-
ment, Lotus may develop updated soft-
ware which can be installed in your
Emira during a visit to your authorised
Lotus Retailer.
You should be advised of any updates
applicable to your Emira and what
systems will be updated, any time that
your Emira enters an authorised Lotus

Retailer workshop for service or repair.
