Lotus E-Call
Using the SOS alarm button, you can
contact a Public Safety Answering
Point (PSAP), for help in emergency
N
situations such as illness, injury, or a
threat, etc.
NOTE: This service may not be
available for all vehicles or in
certain markets.

Manual SOS Call

To manually activate the SOS alarm
function for emergency assistance,
press and hold the SOS button for
approximately 2 seconds, you will then
be directed to the PSAP.
A 'Calling' notification is shown in the
centre display. If the call is not yet
connected it is possible to press the
SOS button again within 8 seconds to
cancel the call. Once in contact with
PSAP, only the PSAP operator can end
the call.
If the operator does not get a response
from the vehicle occupants, then the
appropriate assistance (such as
ambulance or police) will be sent to the
vehicle's location.
The SOS function has an integrated
N
microphone and speaker in the event of
vehicle battery failure.
NOTE: The SOS button should only
be used in an emergency situation
such as an accident, illness or
in the event of a threat to the
occupants of the vehicle. Misuse
of the SOS button could result in
extra charges.

Automatic SOS Call

If an airbag or seatbelt pretensioner is
deployed, the SOS alarm automatical-
ly activates and calls the PSAP and the
appropriate assistance (such as ambu-
lance or police) will be sent to the vehi-
cle's location.
LOTUS E-CALL

Coverage

Lotus E-Call is available when the
ignition is turned ON. The operation of
E-Call - SOS Emergency 112 Assistance
relies on 2G or 3G cellular coverage
and may be affected by signal outages
or low signal strength. In these
circumstances it may not be possible
to establish an E-Call with the Public
Safety Answering Point.
In the above circumstances Lotus Cars
is not liable for any consequences or
losses that occur.

Self-Test and Fault Warnings

The Lotus E-Call system will perform a
self-test when the vehicle is in ignition
mode II, (see page 153).
During a Self-Test the SOS alarm but-
ton's LED status indicator will flash
quickly until completion. The LED sta-
tus indicator will be constantly illumi-
nated if no system faults are present.
Faults detected during the self-test or
whilst the E-Call is in standby mode will
be shown in the driver's display.
