NOTICE
Use of a worn or damaged product
Limited effectiveness
Before each use, check the product for functional reliability and for possible wear or dam­
age.
Do not continue using a product that is no longer functional, or that is worn or damaged.

5 Size Selection

The product is available in a universal size.
6 Handling
INFORMATION
The daily duration of use and period of application are generally determined by the physi­
cian.
The initial fitting and application of the product must be carried out by qualified personnel
according to the instructions of the treating physician.
Consult a physician if any exceptional changes are noted (such as worsening of the com­
plaint).
6.1 Adaptation
CAUTION
Incorrect application of the orthosis
Malposition of the legs, impairment of hip development
Apply the orthosis properly.
Instruct the parents in the correct application of the product.
Inform the parents that changes to the product are not permitted.
The initial fitting and subsequent adjustment of the orthosis must be carried out only by
the physician or O&P professional.
The condyle clasps can be worn directly on the skin, over a 623T1=6 cotton stockinette or over
thin trousers.
The width of the condyle clasps can be adjusted according to measurements prior to application,
or directly on the leg.
1) To shift the condyle clasps, loosen the 2 saucer head screws using the Allen wrench (see
fig. 2).
2) Apply the Hip Abduction Orthosis to the thigh from the front, centring the medial supracon­
dylar profile (see fig. 3).
3) To adjust the abduction unit, loosen the set screw (see fig. 4).
4) There is a hole in the outer telescope. The width setting can be marked with a pen, making it
reproducible at any time after adjustments are made (see fig. 5).
5) Before handing the orthosis over to the patient, secure all screws with 241 636K13 Loctite.
6.2 Application
CAUTION
Incorrect or excessively tight application
Risk of local pressure and constriction of blood vessels and nerves due to improper or excess­
ively tight application
Ensure that the product is applied properly and fits correctly.
