3.3 Contraindications
3.3.1 Absolute Contraindications

3.3.2 Relative Contraindications
For the following clinical pictures, consultation with a physician is required before applying and
wearing the product: skin diseases/injuries in the fitted body region, in particular in case of
inflammatory changes; raised scars with swelling, reddening and warming; lymphatic congestion
and dysaesthesia in the legs
3.4 Effects
The Hip Abduction Orthosis positions the hip joints according to the Hoffmann-Daimler principle.
With the onset of standing freely, the acetabulums can be expected to mature by the 18th month
of life.
3.5 Service life
The physician decides the daily duration of use for the Hip Abduction Orthosis. After X-rays show
satisfactory results, use of the orthosis is discontinued over a period of 6 to 8 weeks. Abduction is
reduced in 1 cm increments during this time.
The product has a service life of 12 monthswhen professionally installed and properly used.
