Check that the orthosis is properly fitted before it is handed over to the pa-
tient for use.
Make sure that the orthosis does not cause pressure points in the
INFORMATION
underarm region and that the humerus head is not pushed upward.
If necessary, the orthotist can adjust the tube frame around the iliac crest for
a more personal fit.

2.3 Instructions for use

NOTICE
Damage caused by wear and tear. Before each use, the orthosis must
be checked for functional reliability and for possible wear or damage. If
a closure or any other part of the orthosis shows any signs of wear, the
orthosis should no longer be used.
Improper changes to the product are not permitted.
The orthosis must be used in strict conformity with the indication. The physi-
cian's instructions must be strictly observed.
Compared to a cast, the orthosis provides more comfort thanks to its light
weight, hygienic features and adjustable arm position.
We recommend wearing a T-shirt or undershirt beneath the orthosis.
2.4 Care instructions
The fabric cover and straps/belt can be washed at 30°C using a standard
mild detergent. To do this, remove the hand pad and the abduction wedges
from the orthosis. Then remove all hook and loop closures and well as the
supporting tube frame. Soap residues can cause skin irritations. Therefore,
rinse thoroughly after washing so that all residual detergent is removed. Do not
expose to the sun and do not use oven or radiator heat for drying. The fabric
cover can be dried in the dryer on a low setting (delicate cycle).
After drying, pull the fabric cover over the tube frame and reattach the hand
pad, the hook and loop closures and the abduction wedges to the orthosis.
If necessary, a replacement cover can be ordered (article num-
INFORMATION
ber 29A217). We recommend using the replacement cover while the fabric
cover is being cleaned.
