8 Trouble-shooting
WARNING
Improper work to remedy faults
Risk of injury!
▷ For any work performed to remedy faults, observe the relevant information
given in this operating manual and/or in the product literature provided by the
accessories manufacturer.
NOTE
Should any faults or malfunctions occur at the pump set or control unit, refer to the
operating manuals supplied.
If problems occur that are not described in the following table, consultation with the
service is required.
A Pump is running, but does not deliver
B Insufficient flow rate
C Excessive current/power input
D Insufficient discharge head
E Vibrations and noise during pump operation
F Pump does not start up
G Pump does not stop.
H Pumps not changing over
I Acoustic / visual alarm
I Possible cause
- Pump delivers against an excessively high
pressure.
- Valve in the discharge line is not fully
open.
- Pump running in off-design conditions
(part load / overload)
- Pump intake clogged by deposits
- Inlet line or impeller clogged by deposits Clean the inlet line, pump components
- Discharge line clogged by deposits
- Dirt/fibres in the clearance between the
casing wall and impeller
Sluggish pump rotor
- Internal parts worn.
- Riser and/or sealing element damaged
- Impermissible air or gas content in the
fluid handled
- System-induced vibrations
SRA
Remedy
Open the valves until the duty point has
been reached.
Fully open the valve.
Check the pump's operating data.
Clean the intake, pump components and
check valve.

Flush the discharge line.
Check whether the impeller can be easily
rotated; clean the hydraulic system if
required.
Replace worn parts by new ones.
Replace defective risers. Replace sealing
elements.
