7.4 Entering the collecting tank

Explosion hazard!
▷ Remove combustible gases from the collecting tank.
DANGER
Substances posing health hazards in the collecting tank
Danger to life!
▷ Decontaminate collecting tanks before entering them.
DANGER
Excessively long time in the collecting tank
Danger to life!
▷ Collecting tanks must only be entered occasionally and briefly by a person
secured with a harness and ropes; the relevant local accident prevention
regulations must be complied with, and suitable means for entering the tank
must be used.

Formation of life-threatening gases
Danger to life!
▷ Always observe the following safety instructions.
▷ Observe the general instructions. (ð Section 2.8, Page 10)

The pressure has not been released from pipe parts/valves or they have not been
drained prior to starting the work.
Risk of injury!
▷ Observe the general instructions. (ð Section 2.8, Page 10)
▷ Carefully drain the pipeline.
WARNING
Unsecured manhole
Danger of injury by falling!
▷ Secure/cover the manhole with suitable means.
