5 Installation at Site

5.1 General

NOTE
Do not operate pump stations near living quarters and sleeping quarters.

5.2 Preparing the construction pit

CAUTION
Clogging of the piping / formation of air pockets
Damage to the pump station!
▷ The height of the discharge connection of the valve pit has to be equal to or
above the height of the discharge nozzle of the collecting tank.
Excavate and prepare a construction pit for the collecting tank. If a valve pit is used,
excavate and prepare another construction pit for the valve pit. Make sure that the
height of the discharge connection of the valve pit is equal to or above the height of
the discharge nozzle of the collecting tank. See (ð Section 5.4, Page 24)
ü Keep the construction pit dry for the entire construction time.
1. Excavate the construction pit to DIN 4124 / DIN 18300 and VOB. Observe the
slopes of the respective soil class (slope angle, planking/strutting requirements,
etc).

2. Provide a minimum working space of 50 cm on the pit floor in every direction.
3. Level the pit floor.
4. Place a pre-fabricated reinforced concrete foundation or an approx. 300 mm
high reinforced concrete plate with a cement content of 300 kg/m
on the level pit floor.
