Troubleshooting

To reduce the risk of injury due to burns, allow ade-
quate time for the motor to cool before performing any
troubleshooting tasks.
1. Follow Pressure Relief Procedure, page 23,
before checking or repairing the pump.
Problem
Pump runs, but chemical does not
discharge at the correct rate
(Fluid in calibration column is "bounc-
ing" during calibration)

2. Check all possible problems and causes before dis-
Cause
Inlet check is clogged with debris
Inlet check o-ring is damaged
Air in pump head
Packing leak
Inadequate chemical supply
Incorrect calibration
assembling the pump.
Remove debris from the check valve.
Evaluate o-ring chemical compatibil-
ity and replace as required.
Ensure the suction lines are tight and
then prime the pump.
Injection into a gas line: Inspect the
outlet check valve to ensure gas is
not back-feeding into the pump head.
Tighten the packing nut. If leak per-
sist, evaluate packing chemical com-
patibility and replace.
Ensure the chemical tank is filled.
Inspect and replace the chemical
supply filter.
Ensure the calibration gauge is func-
tioning properly with good venting.
