OPERATION
HD9010TM High Definition Time Code Master Manual
The PRIMARY READER menu is used to select which reader will be
used in the momentary and continuous Jam Sync modes. The primary
reader will have an asterisk (*) displayed beside its name on the front
panel display. The reader data from the other readers will still be visible
from the front panel and VCG windows but will have no effect on the
generator time in the jam sync modes, or user bits in the user bit
transfer modes.
Select Primary rdr: ATC to configure the ancillary time code reader
(ATC) as the primary reader.
Select Primary rdr: LTC to configure the main linear time code reader
(LTC) as the primary reader.
Select Primary rdr: Aux to configure the auxiliary linear time code
reader (Aux) as the primary reader.
The SMPTE RP188 recommended practice for Ancillary Timecode
(ATC) identifies two types of ATC packets. The ATC RDR TYPE menu
item is used to select whether the ATC reader will read LTC or VITC or
both types of ancillary timecode packets. A fourth choice allows the
HD9010TM to read time and user bit information from a special VANC
packet inserted by the generator of another HD9010TM.
Select Atc rdr:ltc to read LTC type ATC packets.
Select Atc rdr:vitc to read VITC type ATC packets.
Select Atc rdr:ltc=vitc (default) to read either LTC or VITC type ATC
packets. The HD9010TM will read whichever type is present giving
priority to none.
Select Atc rdr:ltc>vitc to read either LTC or VITC type ATC packets.
The HD9010TM will give priority to reading ltc packets and in their
absence fallback to vitc packets.
Select Atc rdr:ltc<vitc to read either LTC or VITC type ATC packets.
The HD9010TM will give priority to reading vitc packets and in their
absence fallback to ltc packets.
Select Atc rdr:vanc to read the special VANC data packets inserted by
another HD9010TM.
