Network Parameter Settings

as the Station Address setting switches. Refer to "Table 3-1 Station Address setting"
and "Table 3-2 Operation Mode setting" for details on how to configure the said
switches.
3.2.1

Network ID and subnet mask

■ Class C setting (DIP switch 8 (IP address type) = Off)
Set the IP address type to 'Class C' using the operation mode setting switch.
■ Tool setting (DIP switch 8 (IP address type) = On)

The network parameters are set using the Operation Mode setting DIP switch as well
Be sure to set the following network parameters for the EN655 module:
・IP address type
・Station Address
Network ID: 192.168.0.XX (XX is the Station Address value)
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Set the IP address type to 'Tool setting' using the operation mode setting switch.
If this setting is selected, the settings can be freely performed using the engineering
However, the following cannot be used for the IP address:
・ Addresses that start with 127 (7Fh)
・ Network addresses whose bits are all '0' or '1'.
・ Host addresses whose bits are all '0' or '1'.
Also the subnet mask value is composed of 1s following the most significant bit.
NOTE
・ When the IP address type is set to 'Tool setting', the module will still work even if there are
inconsistencies between the settings in the tool and the station address setting switch.
However, to prevent erroneous operation it is recommended to match their settings.
・When the IP address type is set to 'Tool setting', the module will still work even if the Station
Address is set to 00h or FFh. However, to prevent erroneous operation it is recommended
to match this with the tool setting.
