Tires
The radial tires (if equipped) of this machine have the following features.

Radial tire
Structure
The cords of carcass (1) are arranged at right
q
angles to the center line of tread (T) (radially).
Tread (T) is stabilized and protected by several
q
strong belts (2).
Side wall (W) and tread (T) are independent
q
from each other.
Ground contact characteristics
Even if the tire is deformed by a load, it does
q
not move uselessly in ground contact and uni-
form ground contact surface is secured stably.
Deformation characteristics
Only side wall (W) is deformed as load is
q
applied and tread (T) made of strong belts (2)
keeps stability independently.

Bias tire
Structure
The cords of carcass (1) are arranged bias

from the center line of tread (T).
Side wall (W) and tread (T) are integral.

contact surface is also deformed, leading to
wasteful moves. As a result, the ground con-
tact surface becomes unstable.
Deformation characteristics
Side wall (W) which receives loads and tread

(T) move as one unit.
