To add a new remote to the Centurion D3 when the master remote for the D5V1.073 is not available, follow these general steps:

1. Access the Controller: Open the gate motor housing to access the CP80 controller.

2. Enter Programming Mode:
- Press and hold the programming button on the controller until the LED lights up or blinks (exact behavior depends on the model).

3. Select Remote Learning Mode:
- Press the button corresponding to remote programming (refer to the control board labeling if available).

4. Press the New Remote Button:
- Press and hold a button on the new remote until the controller LED confirms programming (usually by flashing or turning solid).

5. Exit Programming Mode:
- Press the programming button again or wait for timeout (LED will turn off).

If the system requires the master remote to authorize adding new remotes and it is not available, you may need to reset the controller to factory defaults or use a programming cable or keypad (if supported) to add remotes.

Specific steps may vary by firmware version. If these steps do not work, consult the control board directly for labeled instructions.

The D5 electronic controller utilizes the same proven surge protection philosophy that is used in all Centurion products. While this does not guarantee that the unit will not be damaged in the event of a lightning strike or power surge, it greatly reduces the likelihood of such damage occurring. The earth return for the surge protection is provided via the mains power supply earth.
