2.8.2 PAPER TRAY
Paper Feed/Separation
The paper tray feed station uses a feed and reverse roller system. The paper feed
unit is made up of a pick-up roller, a paper feed roller, a separation roller, and a
relay roller. Behind the separation roller is a torque limiter.

When the paper tray [A] is not inside the machine, the separation roller [B] is away
from the paper feed roller [C] and the pick-up roller [D] stays in the upper position.
When the paper tray is pushed into the machine, it pushes the release lever [E].
This causes the pick-up roller [D] to go down and the separation roller [B] to move
up into contact with the paper feed roller.
