This manual is intended for use by engineers or process engineers and
assumes that the reader has some knowledge of the operation of a paper
machine and a basic understanding of mechanical, electrical and computer
software concepts.
This manual contains eleven chapters.
Chapter 1, System Overview, describes the features and benefits of the
4022 series scanner, including a review of the data sheet. Also included
is a description of the features of the different 4022 series models.
Chapter 2, Site Preparation, describes conditions to be put into place
before the arrival of the 4022 series scanner.
Chapter 3, Installation, describes the installation and set up tasks for
the 4022 series scanner.
Chapter 4, System Testing and Verification, describes various testing
and verification procedures.
Chapter 5, Precision Platform 4022 System Components, describes the
components of the 4022 scanner system.
Chapter 6, Precision Measurement Processor, describes the function
and components of the Precision Measurement Processor (PMP) and
Measurement SubSystem (MSS).
Chapter 7, Precision Platform 4022-40 Wire Calender Scanner,
describes the key features unique to the Wire Calender Scanner Model.
Chapter 8, Preventive Maintenance, describes a schedule for
recommended ongoing maintenance tasks, with links to task
descriptions in Chapter 9.
