Periodic inspection items
1) Inspection of safety inputs
When the RMU continues to be used with two safety input signals in the closed state, the input circuit for
the two signals cannot be diagnosed. Therefore, the two contacts of the safety inputs must be opened at
periodic intervals to perform the inspections.

Details of inspection
Set the robot emergency stop
signal, Safety plug signal and
emergency stop signal all to ON,
And make sure that each function
to work properly.
Set the robot LS signal to OFF,
and check that LS signal is OFF
on the screen of the teach
pendant.

Check that the LED is lighted as if
to describe the number "8."

Check that the RMU is installed
properly inside robot controller.
Check that the bracket and the
ground terminal are not loose.
Check for loose connectors.

If each function does not work, check the
connections of the cables to the RMU. If the
cables are connected properly, replace the
RMU.
If the signal does not go off, check the
connections of the cables to the RMU. If the
cables are connected properly, replace the
RMU.
If an error is displayed, proceed with
troubleshooting.
Install it properly inside robot controller.
Tighten up any loose screws.
Insert the connectors properly.
Refer to the section in "Chapter 2 Monitoring
Unit Configuration."
