Quick Reference Guide – Viper, Clifford, Python, Avital & Automate (Smart Key)
Vehicle takeover with Smart Key
Close the vehicle doors, hood and trunk, then

press the Remote Start button on the transmitter to
start the vehicle.*
Press the Unlock button on the factory or

aftermarket remote.*
Complete the following steps within 45 seconds or the vehicle will shut down.
Enter the vehicle, while making sure the key is

inside with you.
Depress the brake pedal, put the car in gear and

drive off.
* Your key may differ from the model shown in the illustrations.
Manual transmission ready mode

Press Remote

Start button*

Press Unlock on
OR
either remote*

Enter vehicle
with remote

drive off

While the vehicle is running, put the gear in
Neutral (N).
Depress the vehicle's foot brake.
Apply the emergency brake.
Release the vehicle's foot brake.
Warning!
Depressing the brake pedal again after this
step will disable the remote start feature.
Press any button on the transmitter.* The parking
lights flash 5 times confirming that the remote start
feature is active.
Note: If the parking lights do not flash 5 times, you
have not entered manual transmission mode and will
need to repeat steps 1 to 5.
Exit the vehicle.
Press the Lock button on the transmitter.*
The vehicle engine will shut Off after locking
the system.
Put
gear in
Neutral
Depress
brake
pedal
Apply
emergency
brake
Release
brake
pedal
&
Parking lights flash x5
Press any
button*
Exit vehicle
OR
Press Lock on
either remote*
