Danfoss FC Series Control Wiring Testing
Danfoss FC drives have a built‐in diagnostic feature that allows you to validate that the control
wiring is correct. Power‐on the drive and follow the steps below to check your wiring. If there is a
problem, ask your instructor for help.
Digital Input Checks
First you need to check if the digital inputs are functioning correctly. Use the Main Menu button to
navigate to P 16‐60. You will see the screen below, which displays a binary number that represents
the status of the digital inputs. When the switch is closed associated with the corresponding
terminal, the 0 will change to a 1, if the input is working properly. Close switches 18, 19, 27, 29, 32,
& 33 one at a time to see if the digital inputs are wired and functioning correctly.
Analog Input Checks
Next, check if the analog inputs are functioning correctly. The test box contains two
potentiometers. The drive's 10VDC supply (terminal 50) is wired across both potentiometers,
which will be used to create an analog 0‐10VDC signal on terminals 53 & 54. Go to P 16‐62, turn
the left potentiometer (Analog Input 53) and watch the display as the signal varies from 0 to
10VDC. Go to P 16‐64 and do the same for the right potentiometer (Analog Input 54).
