Pre-out only mode
To operate the preamp on an external power amp, the pre-out only mode can be used
to switch off the internal power amp . This improves the technical data of the integrated
amplifier and saves energy .
High-intensity sound
Loud output signals may cause a permanent damage to both your hearing and your
device .

When switching the Pre-out only mode please make sure, that the Surround
Thruput Mode is deactivated under all circumstances .
Switching on pre-out only mode:
The device is switched off .

Press and hold the buttons tuner + cD + smooth on the front of the device and
turn it on with the power on/off switch (8) .
The five input selection LEDs light up for a duration of two seconds to indicate
that the pre-out only mode is active .
Switching off pre-out only mode:
The device is switched off .

Press and hold the buttons tuner + cD + smooth on the front of the device and
turn it on with the power on/off switch (8) .
The five input selection LEDs flash for a duration of two seconds to indicate that
the pre-out only mode is inactive .
Surround Thruput function
To integrate the connected speakers into your surround system, the signal can be
slaved straight through to AUX 2 by using the Surround Thruput function . The
playback volume control is now only effected by the connected source .

Only connect devices with a proprietary volume control to this input when the
Surround Thruput function is active . Since the signals are fed to the MAIN output at
full level in this mode, this may cause considerable damage to both your ears and
your system .

Please note that this also applies to the headphone output .

When changing between modes, turn down the volume level control (5) .
►
Turn off the Source connected to AUX 2 / SURR .
To activate the Surround Thruput function:
►
Select AUX 2 / SURR .
The LED (1) above the input selector key lights green .
►
Turn the volume level control (5) fully counterclockwise .
►
Turn off the Source connected to AUX 2 / SURR .
►
Move the slide switch (14) on the rear to the right .
The LED (1) above the input selector key lights orange .
The function is now enabled .
