Testing & Replacing Components
Several hardware components of an FRX6000 can be tested and/or
replaced in the field by a qualified service person. This chapter
describes replacement and installation of power supplies, disk
drives, and fans, cards, and memory modules.
If you want to back up the database before replacing a
hard disk drive, you will need a 3.5" 1.44MB diskette, for-
matted for MS-DOS version 5.0.
Static electricity can destroy the FRX6000 hardware.
Take the necessary precautions to discharge any static
before touching components or cards. If you have a
grounding wrist strap, wear it.
For reference, Figure 3-1 through Figure 3-3 show front, rear, and
interior views of the FRX6000 chassis.
