USB Communication Interface
The 428LT printer provides a single USB port for communication to a host device. In order
to communicate with the printer, the FTDI USB driver must be installed on the host
computer. This may be downloaded at http://www.microcomcorp.com/drivers.htm. The
FTDI driver is a CDM driver that provides access to both virtual COM port (VCP) and FTDI's
proprietary "direct" (D2XX) interfaces allowing use of a terminal emulation program to
communicate with the printer using a standard USB cable with a Type-A (host computer)
and Type-B (428LT printer) connectors.
3.4.1
FTDI USB Driver Installation
The FTDI USB Driver installation should be performed prior to connecting the printer's USB
port. Select the CDM 2.04.16.exe and follow the on screen instructions.

AUX Option
The AUX port option or auxiliary port on the printer provides support for an optional sensor
that reports the >INPUT 2< message when the sensor is tripped. This generic sensor input
may be configured to report the message when the signal is active low of high. The control
for this sensor is located on position 2 of the ^D23 command; ^ABx1xxxxxx^D23.
