• Before rescanning, straighten documents that were detected
as skewed.
• Before rescanning, remove any staples that were detected in
documents.
When "Press Start Key" Appears
When the Rapid Recovery System is enabled in the ISIS/TWAIN
driver settings, scanning will pause with the paper jam, skewed
document, or staple detected.
The following message appears on the display panel after you remove
the documents from the scanner.
Place the document removed from inside the scanner in front of the
other documents in the feed tray, and press the Start key to resume
scanning.

IMPORTANT
• When you press the Start key, the image that was scanned when the
paper jam, skewed document, or staple was detected will be
discarded.
• Pressing the Stop key saves the images that were scanned before
the paper jam, skewed document, or staple was detected, and
ends the scan process. In such cases, start scanning again from
the document that was scanned when the error was detected, or
restart from the beginning.

Handling a Double Feed

When a double feed is detected while scanning, the document pages
for which double feeding was detected are ejected at the eject outlet,
an error message appears on the PC and on the display panel, and
transport stops.
