Procedures in the event of unintentional release

When used normally, and when observing the instructions, lead-

However, keep in mind that lead-acid batteries contain sulphuric
acid, which can cause serious chemical burns.
1. If there is spillage or if the battery is leaking and acid is escap-
ing, lay down a binding agent such as sand. Do not let it reach
the sewer system, soil or any body of water.
2. Neutralise the acid with lime/baking soda and dispose of it ac-
cording to local regulations.
3. Contact a waste management company to dispose of faulty
batteries.
4. Rinse thoroughly with lots of clear water if acid gets into eyes
or comes in contact with the skin.
5. Thereafter consult a doctor immediately.
6. Wash out the acid with water if it comes in contact with clothes.
7. Change clothing.
