After specifying the test settings, you can connect to the line.
To connect to the line
1 For Terminate mode, connect as described on
page 24.
2 For Through mode, connect one end of the test cable to
the 8-pin jack on the right-hand side of the HST-3000.
3 Connect the other end of the cable to Tip and Ring using
either the modular jack or clip leads.
4 Connect to the CPE:
a Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the Ethernet
jack on the top of the HST-3000.
b Connect the other end of the cable to the PC, hub, or
router.
Use a shielded crossover cable if you are connecting to
a PC. Use a straight cable if you are connecting to a
hub or router.
The test leads are connected.
