5 FIRST TIME POWER-UP AND START-UP

This chapter describes how to:
- Check and prepare the inverter before power-up.
- Power-up the inverter and check the result.
- Set the inverter for the operation in the V/f mode based on the power supply and motor information by using
the Oriented Start-Up routine and the Basic Application group.
NOTE!
For a detailed description of the V V W or Vector control modes and for other available functions,
please refer to the CFW-11 programming manual.
ATTENTION!
Firmware version V5.00 or higher CANNOT be used on inverters with control board revision prior to
"D". Any firmware version prior to V5.00 CANNOT be used on inverters with control board revision
"D" or higher.

5.1 PREPARE FOR START-UP

The inverter shall have been already installed according to the recommendations listed in
INSTALLATION AND CONNECTION on page
the application design is different from the suggested control connections.
DANGER!
Always disconnect the main power supply before performing any inverter connection.

1. Check if power, grounding, and control connections are correct and firmly secured.
2. Remove from the inside of the inverter all installation material left behind.
3. Verify the motor connections and if the motor voltage and current is within the rated value of the inverter.
4. Mechanically uncouple the motor from the load:
If the motor cannot be uncoupled, make sure that the chosen direction of rotation (forward or reverse) will
not result in personnel injury and/or equipment damage.
5. Return the inverter covers.
