Symptom:

ACM NOT CONFIGURED FOR SAB - ACTIVE

When Monitored and Set Condition:
ACM NOT CONFIGURED FOR SAB - ACTIVE
When Monitored: With ignition on, the ORC monitors the PCI Bus for the VIN message
containing A , E or H in the 4 the position of the VIN. This character identifies the type
of safety equipment and should match the VIN. The PCM transmits the VIN every 13.76
seconds
Set Condition: The code will set, if the ORC detects a Side Impact Airbag Module on the
PCI Bus and a VIN message containing an E or H as the 4 th character.

CHECK PCM VIN
ACM NOT CONFIGURED FOR SIDE AIRBAGS
TEST

Turn the ignition on.
Connect the DRB to the data link connector and select PCM, SYSTEM TEST.
With the DRBIII , read the PCM Active on the Bus
Does the DRB show PCM Active on the Bus:?
Yes → Go To 2
→ Refer to category COMMUNICATION and select the related
No

With the DRB read the Vehicle Identification Number in the Powertrain Control
Module.
Compare the VIN displayed on the DRB screen and the Vehicle VIN plate.
Does the VIN plate and the PCM VIN match?
Yes → Go To 3
→ Replace the Powertrain Control Module and program with the
No
POSSIBLE CAUSES
ACTION
symptom.
Perform AIRBAG VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
