2.3 Switching an Application Unit on/off

The Application Units are switched on and off individually or together with the other components of the SE server.

iRMC
The iRMC offers various options for switching the Application Unit PY on and off, e.g. via the Power On Off page
of the iRMC Web GUI.

In the case of AU PQ, a Management Board is available instead of the iRMC. The AU can only be
switched on/off at partition level.
Timed power-on/off
You can configure a timed power-on/off on an AU PY with the help of the iRMC.
After power failure
An Application Unit which is switched on reboots automatically following a power failure (depending on the
settings in the BIOS setup or in the iRMC for AU PY resp. in the Management Board for AU PQ).
Power Button Override
The Application Unit can be switched off by pressing and holding down the On/Off button (for approximately 4 - 5
seconds).
