Replacing the Power Supply

1. Unplug the power cord from the power source.
2. Remove the power supply modules. Refer to steps 1 and 2 of "Replacing a Power Supply
Module" on page 67.
3. At the rear of the server, undo the strain relief and unplug the power cord from the power
supply.
4. Remove the top cover from the system.
5. At the server board, hot swap backplane, CD-ROM drive, and peripheral drives, label and
disconnect the power cables.
6. Remove the power cables from the bundle clip located near the hot swap backplane power
connector.
7. Remove the wire tie from the server board power cables where they pass through the fan
assembly.
8. At the server, disconnect both fans.
9. Remove the two screws (Figure 56, A) that attach the fan assembly to the chassis floor.
10. Slide the fan assembly toward the power supply to release it from the chassis clip. Remove it
from the chassis.
11. At the rear of the chassis, remove the two screws (C) that secure the power supply to the
chassis.
