5.8. Protection mechanism of front safety curtain

The mechanism is designed to provide protection of front safety curtain against damage in the
event the curtain was not locked in the upper position by shut-off valve, and the rotating working units
will be slid down.
This mechanism is operated by means of lever (1), which, as the working unit approaches the rake's
linkage, is pushed away by pin (4) located on pull-out arm. The lever has a line (2) attached, and with
its use, along with the lever, push-off arm (3) operates. It is intended to protect the curtain against
damage by pushing it to a safe distance away from an operating rotor. With adjusting nut (5) it is
possible to set a safe distance for safety curtain from raking arms of the working unit.

5.9. Lifting rake on headlands and transport position

To lift working units to transport position, on the control panel switch to lifting function (2), and
then in the initial stage of lifting the working units, pull the pawl (P) by means of string (4) and using
tractor's hydraulic valve lever set the pressure (Fig. 34).
To lift working units on headlands, on the control panel switch to lifting function (1) and using
tractor's hydraulic valve lever set the pressure. When lifting arms with working assemblies the pawl (P)
will be locked automatically in position for headlands (Fig. 35).
