Section 1: Introduction to S530 Diagnostics
The S530 diagnostic functions have a broad range of uses beyond a single-pass complete system
diagnostic. The tool is intended to be used in whole or in parts, with looping capability to help you
diagnose a wide range of problems, including those that may exhibit intermittent behaviors.
The S530 diagnostics can be used for all of the S530 configurations. These configurations include:
High-voltage or low-current non-Kelvin, two-wire (2W) systems.
High-voltage or low-current Kelvin, four-wire (4W) systems
If you have a 4-wire system, it is a Kelvin system and if you have a 2-wire system, it is a non-Kelvin
system.

Operating modes

The S530 diagnostic project supports two operating modes: engineer and operator. The mode used is
determined by the ACS login account type.
Engineer
Engineer mode enables all of the S530 diagnostic features and options. In this mode you can enable
or disable individual tests, for example, execute the SMU communications test, or the matrix test, or
run the entire suite of diagnostic tests. Also, test parameters can be selected and saved. Once saved,
the selected tests can be recalled and executed again at a later time (see next Figure).
The output of the engineer-level diagnostics will display as the testing occurs in the ACS graphical
user interface (GUI), plus a test log and a detailed diagnostic report can be found in the following
default directory after testing is complete:
C:\ACS\Projects\Diagnostic\Reports
