Ballast Bags & Pump System
TYPICAL
BALLAST BAG
electronic controls inside the chart plotter through
an engine compartment mounted node module to
fi ll/empty the tanks.
The ballast bags feature Valmex PVC material, high
end plasticizer and a welded process which pro-
duces bags with thermo-bonded seams. They are
much stronger and durable than glued seams in the
harsh marine environment.
Your vessel utilizes 3 reversible pumps to fi ll and
empty the ballast bags. When the bags fi ll water is
drawn through the hull bottom and sea cock to the
desired bags pump. When the bags empty water
exits through the sea cock and the hull bottom. The
impeller that pulls water through the pump is a heavy
duty polymer design and should provide longevity
in a variety of water types. The impeller inside the
pump spins around a cam which produces a low
pressure area and pulls water through the pump.
The port and starboard bags use the port sea cock
as a water source through the hull bottom. The top
hose on port sea cock runs to the port bag.
The larger center bag uses the starboard sea cock.
Note that the sea cock handle must be straight up
(open position) to fi ll/empty the desired bag.
Note that the output pump hoses utilize a quick dis-
connect band (orange) for any maintenance needs.
An additional feature of the
Regal surf system is the 3
ballast bags. Usually the
bags are placed as follows:
1 bag aft starboard, 1 aft
port and 1 at the center line.
These bags are activated by
when a new impeller is replaced.
NOTICE
PREVENT WATER PUMP/IMPELLER DAMAGE!
DO NOT RUN THE PUMP SYSTEM
WITHOUT WATER OR WITH SEA COCK
HANDLE CLOSED.

Surf Tabs

The surf tabs operate using screw drive technol-
ogy. This eliminates the possibility of hydraulic
leaks as with fl uid operated types. The surf tabs
run independently of one another in 2 different po-
sitions; completely up or down. To begin you can
choose the starting up position which will permit
the boat to be evenly planed before you start wake
surfi ng. At that point you choose your desired
TYPICAL SURF LIGHTS
and then the boat will list to the desired side and
the red light will stop fl ashing and stay on through
that surf cycle.
The surf water pump sys-
tem requires little main-
tenance. It is a good idea
to carry an extra replace-
able impeller. Note that
the pump O ring should
be replaced and lubricated
side to ride (usually a
higher wake position)
on the chart plotter
screen and the tran-
som mounted red light
will initially fl ash for the
rider to be prepared
