2-1 High-speed Counter Operation

2-1-1 Counter mode

The high-speed counter has three types of counter modes. The table below shows the operations of each mode.
Counter mode
Forward pulse
1 multiplication
(A-phase)
/Reverse pulse
(B-phase)

Command pulse

(A-phase)
/Direction signal
(B-phase)

90-degree
1 multiplication

* The above table shows the operation specifications when the signal polarity is "positive". The polarity can be changed to
"negative" by the parameter setting.
* On the "Basic unit parameter" dialog box in the system definition, assign a high-speed counter signal to an input. The response
speeds of the inputs differ depending on the input address. For the input specifications, refer to "2-2 Input Specifications".

Down count (-1)
Assign an input (X ) of
the basic unit to the
A-pahse for the forward
pulse, and to the B-phase
for the reverse pulse.
Assign an input (X ) of
the basic unit to the
A-pahse for the command
pulse, and to the B-phase
for the direction signal.
The special relay can also
be used for the direction
signal.
Assign an input (X ) of
the basic unit to the
A-pahse and B-phase.
