O
Operating principle
P
Q
Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) automatically main-
tains a set speed and a set distance at a speed of
R
approx. 19 mph - 130 mph (30 km/h - 210 km/h)
without having to use the accelerator pedal.
S
If another vehicle that is traveling slower than the
T
selected speed is detected ahead in the same lane,
ACC automatically maintains a set distance. Adap-
U
tive Cruise Control will cause the vehicle to brake if
V
the distance from the vehicle in front becomes too
short and accelerate if the distance increases.
W
If the vehicle in front stops, ACC brakes the vehicle
X
to a stop and then accelerates again automatically if
the vehicle in front starts driving again within 15
Y
seconds. Otherwise, automatic speed and distance
Z
control can be resumed.
44
The speed of the vehicle can be increased at any
time by pressing the accelerator pedal. The stored
desired speed and distance settings are retained and
are set again after the accelerator pedal is released.
The speed of the vehicle can be decreased at any
time by braking. This switches the system to passive
mode.
