Using Hill Holder Wheel Locks
WARNING
DO NOT attempt to stop a moving wheelchair with the hill holders. Hill holders are NOT brakes.
Hill holder wheel locks MUST be used with pneumatic wheels ONLY.
If wheel locks or hill holders DO NOT hold the occupied wheelchair in place, contact a qualified technician - otherwise
injury or damage may occur.
Engaging/Disengaging Wheel Lock
For this procedure, refer to FIGURE 11.
Ensure wheelchair is not moving before engaging.
1.
To engage, (from the seated position) push the wheel lock handle (A) forward until the wheel lock shoe (B) contacts the wheel (C).
2.
To disengage, (from the seated position) pull the wheel lock handle (A) rearward until the wheel lock shoe (B) disengages the wheel (C).
