Software Backup Image
A software backup image is created or updated every time a valid software package is installed
into the XT codec unit via a software upgrade.
This backup will be used to rollback a failed upgrade procedure that might happen afterwards.
Example:
HTTP Upgrade
In this version, a software package can be uploaded to the XT Codec Unit using the Web interface
(only if your Web browser support this feature, see below note).

After warning about long duration of the operation, click "Next"
Browse to select software upgrade package to upload and install
Click "Upload- Install"
Important
Do not close browser / change page until the procedure is completed.
Progress while uploading / upgrading is shown
Wait for XT to restart

XT is upgraded with version "A". Software installation succeeds. A valid software image
"A" is created.
XT is upgraded with version "B". Software installation fails (for instance when a power-off
happens while upgrading). When XT restarts, it will validate latest software installation and
rollback to valid software image "A".
Important

A valid software image, if available, is automatically restored also when recovery
mode is activated after a failed upgrade.
o
While creating or evaluating a software image, incoming calls will be rejected and
new software upgrades will be refused.
o
A software backup image is not created or used when downgrading to versions
earlier than 8.3.2
