a. When running a program the axis at fault will chatter rapidly within a few
degrees of movement.
b. When running the Test program, the indication will show that RPM of motor
is up but, the motor only oscillates within a ¼ turn of the motor, current will
be higher than normal .
c. Inverter bad will not show an alarm fault—change out inverter
NOTE! If the motor windings were bad the inverter would alarm fault inverter during
self-test at power turn on.
Pitch: sudden movement or erratic inadvertent movement
Cause: One of the three phase wires feeding the pitch motor is broken in half ie;
fatigued due to bending at the strain relief going into the motor connection box. The wire
makes momentary contact as the machine is told to move or at the completion of a move.
At times, a wire may stick through insulation touching the cable ground shield.
Correction: remove power to the motor, Ohm check each lead end to end while
someone moves cable up and down slightly between motor and cabinet tie point. Meter
will fluctuate between a short and open. Repair by cutting out the bad section and
reconnecting to motor leads with fresh wire pigtail from cable.
Quick Brake Test if Inverters Fault on Over-current Fault.
1. Open the Motion Client program
2. Raise platform to the top.
3. Start the Motion Test program.
4. With another person holding either pitch/roll brake open manually, test brake release
by trying to move axis manually.
5. Cycle the axis in question by clicking either up/down icon for pitch or left/right icon
for roll.
a. Make sure persons performing the brake test are in communication and sight
of each other to prevent personal injury due to unit motion.
b. If the platform moves freely without faulting the inverter, then the problem is
in the brake circuit.
c. If the inverter faults out now, then the problem most likely is in the inverter.
Remove and Replace the inverter and retest system.

Note! Just one inverter not communicating will prevent the normal operation
1. Open the Motion Client program.
2. Pull E-stop button out, apply inverter power.
3. Verify all inverters power up red and green light ON, on all the
inverters. If not, that inverter has a problem.
4. Verify all communications modules are installed top of each inverter.
5. The red lights on top in motion program, must change to green for
proper communications and inverter operation.
