What do I do if?
The dough does not rise?
The bread is too heavy?

5. CLEANING AND STORAGE

Your machine can be left ready for use on your kitchen worktop. Switch
it off and disconnect it when you are not using it. Do not leave the
pushers locked into position, otherwise you may damage the mecha-
nism.
Store the blades and metal discs out of reach of children.
All the attachments of your food processor can be washed in a
dishwasher, with the exception of the motor-unit base. We recommend
that you rinse the preparation bowl, lid, pushers and blade or disc
immediately after use, as the food is more difficult to remove when dry.
If you wash the blades and discs by hand, be very careful. Avoid letting
them soak in soapy water, where they could disappear from view.
Always handle them with extreme caution.
The preparation bowl must not be placed in the microwave, since the
blocking device is metallic.
To clean the base unit of the machine, wipe clean with a sponge using
a mild detergent. Do not use a scourer to clean it.
IMPORTANT: Do not leave the blade or disc on the motor spindle when
the machine is not in use.

Answers
• Check the expiry date of the
yeast.
• Do not use warm water to prepare
the dough, or overheat the dough
by kneading it for too long. The
ideal temperature for the dough is
26°C.
• Allow the dough to rise in a warm
place sheltered from draughts.
• Bear in mind that dough made
from wholemeal flour rises more
slowly than dough made from
plain flour. Give it sufficient time
to rise.
• At the next attempt, ensure that
the dough is smooth, elastic,
pliable and slightly sticky before
letting it rise. Allow the dough to
double in size before rolling it out,
then shape it. Allow it to double
in size another time after
you have shaped it.

6. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

• Do not immerse the base unit of the machine in water or in any other
liquid.
• Always disconnect the machine after use, before assembling
or dismounting it, before taking out food, and before cleaning it.
Never leave the machine unattended when plugged in. To
disconnect, switch off and pull out the plug. Never pull out
the plug by the cord.
• Do not let the cord hang over the edge of the worktop, and
do not let it come into contact with hot surfaces.
• Do not leave a blade or metal disc on the motor spindle when
the machine is not in use. Store the blades and metal discs out
of reach of children.
• Handle the blades and metal discs with extreme care. Avoid
touching the sharp metal parts.
• Place the stem on a level and steady surface before fixing it onto a disc.
• Never place a blade or disc onto the motor spindle before the bowl
is locked into position.
• Before switching on the machine, ensure that the blade or metal disc
is pushed well onto the motor spindle, and that the lid is correctly
inserted. Do not force or block the lid mechanism.
• Always insert the blade before adding ingredients.
• To grate or slice food, always use the pusher. Never push with your
fingers or with any other utensil. Only use the spatula when the
motor is at a standstill. Avoid all contact with moving pieces.
• Always wait until the blade or disc has stopped moving before
removing the pushers or lid.
• Disconnect the machine before cleaning it, moving it or removing the
attachments.
• Remove the bowl from the base before taking out the blade.
• Ensure that you prevent the chopping blade from falling out when
the bowl is being emptied. When emptying the bowl, take out hold
the blade in place (hold it through the bottom of the bowl).
• Only use this machine with the attachments provided or
recommended by Cuisinart®.
• To avoid damaging the switch of the preparation bowl, do not store
the machine with the pusher completely inserted into position.
• Be particularly vigilant if the machine is used near children. Store the
machine out of reach of children. Do not let children use the food
processor.
• Do not use the machine if it has fallen, or shows visible signs of damage.
• Stop using the machine immediately if the electric cable is damaged.
If the electricity-supply cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the
manufacturer or the respective after-sales service.
