Using the Barcode Reader

Barcode-driven options are available only if your instrument is
configured with a barcode reader. Barcode readers are usually installed
and configured at the factory at the time of purchase; however, it is
possible to add a barcode reader at a later time by contacting your local
Molecular Devices representative.
The following barcoding libraries are supported: Interleaved 2 of 5,
Code 128, EAN 128, Code 39, Code 93, and CODABAR.
Note: When using Interleaved 2 or 5, the barcode needs to be between
6 and 48 characters

Configuring Alarms

The following situations can trigger an alarm:
The barcode is not present on the plate that is currently being
processed.
The barcode is present but no job can be found (in any of the
lists) for the plate.
The stack is finished.
The system fails.
There are several alarm options available that you can select and
configure.
To configure alarms
1. In the StakMax Software window, click Alarm Configuration
Options.
2. Select one or more of the following alarm types:
Play a Beep
Run a program
Display a red box
Send an email
3. Click each of the relevant tabs for the alarm types you selected
and choose additional alarm options.
