the StakMax instrument.

Running Protocols
Protocols can be assigned in three ways:
•
in sequence, using a job list
•
by barcode, using a job list
•
with a single, pre-defined protocol to run all plates (with the
option to group all plates in one result)
All protocols need to be pre-defined in the Multi-Mode Analysis
Software. You can choose to run a Sequence-driven job list, where
protocols are assigned to each plate in the order they are stacked, or a
Barcode-driven job list, where protocols are assigned to each plate
based on the barcode attached to the plate. Alternatively, you can run
all plates with a single protocol. For more information, see
Options on page
87.
Stopping the StakMax Instrument in an Emergency
The Interrupt button on the lower-front side of the StakMax instrument
immediately shuts down the entire system, including the StakMax
instrument and the reader. After you press the Interrupt button, clear
any object that is in the way, remove any plates that are in the plate
drawer, and then press the same button which also serves as a Reset
button to reset the instrument to its initial startup state.
In most cases, the software automatically resets the system if an error
occurs. The Interrupt button should be used only in rare cases when the
stacker does not reset itself.
